Renew 1st floor apartment..
This tired 1st floor apartment has recently had a face lift. In the space of a few weeks it was transformed from a tired 80s look into a fresh clean minimalist modern style. This second hand kitchen has high gloss white cabinet doors with a solid jarrah bench top. We installed these cabinets with some overhead cupboards from Ikea and a jarrah look floating floor from Bunnings.
We used wattle white on white for the walls and vivid white on the trims and doors. We left the main room trim as was a cream colour.
Before the reburbishment
When we started the walls in the main living areas and hall were rich red and bright yellow. These colours proved to darken the space making it feel hot and closed in.
The walls needed some plaster and repair but they came up looking really good once the new paint job was done.
The bedrooms were both different shades of blue. In particular one was dark blue and felt really oppressive and closed in. We painted the bedrooms with the same colours as the main living and hall. This made the whole apartment seem open and spacious.
